Runsi Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what information Runsi collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service. This page mirrors the in-app Privacy Policy for App Store Connect, Google Play, and public reference.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Runsi, we may process:
- Account details (name, email, sign-in provider identifiers)
- Profile and training inputs (goals, fitness level, preferences)
- Workout data (distance, time, pace, routes, device sensors, motion)
- Health and fitness data you allow from Apple Health or Health Connect (for example heart rate, steps, sleep, and workouts), and workout summaries we write back when you finish a session
- Live location when you enable outdoor tracking, Live Circle, Beacon, or SOS
- Photos and camera images you choose: run memories, Stories, challenge posts, profile picture, share cards, meal plates, gym-plan imports, and treadmill console captures
- Meal logs and nutrition drafts, including plate photos sent to our vision service when you tap scan
- Voice audio and speech-to-text when you use Coach or gym voice
- Community content you post (Stories, challenge photos, text, cheers)
- Purchase and entitlement records for Lite or Pro
- Ad-interaction data on Runsi Free when ads are enabled (Google AdMob, contextual / non-personalized). Lite and Pro have no ads
- Device and app diagnostics / analytics needed to operate and improve Runsi
2. How we use information
We use data to provide tracking, training, gym, and nutrition features; sync across your devices; power Live Circle and SOS alerts you request; turn photos you submit into meal or gym-plan drafts; turn voice into coaching text; moderate community content; prevent abuse; show ads on Free if ads are on; improve product quality; and send important service messages.
3. Sharing
We share information with:
- People you explicitly invite (Live Circle watchers, challenge teammates) when you choose to share
- Service providers that host infrastructure (cloud database, auth, notifications, analytics, vision processing) under contractual safeguards
- Apple Health or Health Connect on your device when you allow read/write
- Google AdMob when Free-tier ads are enabled
- App stores for subscriptions when you purchase through them
- Authorities when required by law or to protect safety and rights
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell health or meal data.
4. Health and fitness
If you connect Apple Health (iPhone / Apple Watch) or Health Connect (Android), we read only the types you approve — typically heart rate, steps, sleep, and workouts — to show live effort, recovery, and daily activity. When you finish a phone session we may write a workout summary (activity type, duration, distance, active energy) back to Health. Watch-started workouts are already saved by the watch. You can revoke Health permissions in system Settings; those features then stop updating.
5. Photos, camera, meals, and gym import
Camera and Photos are used only after you tap to capture or pick an image. That includes run memories, Stories, challenges, profile photos, share cards, meal plates, photos of a written gym plan, and treadmill display photos. Meal and gym-plan / treadmill images are sent to our cloud vision service to draft food or exercises. You review the draft before it is saved to your account. We do not scan your library in the background.
6. Voice and speech
Coach and gym voice use the microphone while you are speaking, then speech recognition (on-device or the OS service) to turn audio into text. That text is sent to our coaching service to answer you. We do not record the microphone in the background or while you are not in a voice session.
7. Advertising
Runsi Free may show Google AdMob ads when the store build includes ads. Those ads are contextual / non-personalized — we do not ask for App Tracking Transparency or use IDFA. Apple SKAdNetwork identifiers are registered so ad networks can attribute installs without tracking you across other apps. Lite and Pro are ad-free. You can upgrade to Lite or Pro to remove ads.
8. Analytics
Optional analytics (Firebase) help us understand feature use. In the UK / EEA / Switzerland we keep analytics off until you choose Allow analytics. Elsewhere analytics default on and you can switch them off in Settings. Essential crash-prevention and security signals may still run.
9. Location
Precise location is used for outdoor workouts, maps, Live Circle, Safety Beacon, and SOS. Background location may be required for reliable live sharing and locked-screen tracking. You can revoke OS permissions anytime; some features will then stop working.
10. Community and moderation
Public Stories and challenge content can be seen by other users and may be reviewed by automated systems and human moderators. Reports and safety signals may be retained to enforce rules.
11. Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed for security, legal, and operational purposes. You can delete your account in Settings; we then delete or anonymize personal data except where we must retain records (for example fraud prevention or legal obligations). Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.
12. Your choices
You can update profile data, disconnect Health, remove Live Circle members, turn off auto-share, stop Beacon, mute or hide Stories, change analytics in Settings, and delete your account. Device settings control location, notifications, camera, Photos, microphone, speech, Bluetooth, and Health.
13. Children
Runsi is not directed to young children. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us so we can take action.
14. International processing
Data may be processed in countries where our providers operate. We take steps appropriate to the service to protect information in transit and at rest.
15. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy and will revise the “Last updated” date. For privacy questions, contact the Runsi team through the support channels published in the app or on our official website.
